In this new Little Golden Book, Rico is a snuggly sock monkey who is born in a noisy factory, put in a box, and driven in the dark to somewhere he's never been. But Rico is never afraid, and his courage is rewarded when he arrives at a toy store, where he's soon chosen by a nice lady to be a special gift to her little boy . . . and, in time, the grown-up boy's little girl.

I'm a huge fan of Little Golden Books. There is something about seeing a row full of shiny gold spines that makes my inner child squeal with delight. I was so excited to receive Rico the Brave Sock Monkey to read and review. I really liked the classic feel of this story. Even though it is a "new book" it has the same style of artwork and sweet story line of the books that I fell in love with as a child.
Sock monkeys are nearly everywhere right now and I think young children will love reading about Rico and his adventures with his new family. Golden Books are always a hit in my house with my kids.
