EXCUSE ME WHILE I GUSH EVERYWHERE ABOUT THIS BOOK.

Okay, so I love retellings. One of my favorite things about them is the uniqueness the author brings to the story. When I saw this cover I was honestly a little hesitant going in because it looks like Eric from the move and was the movie going to be ruined for me?

Friends, I'm here to tell you that you will not be disappointed. The book is from Eric's point of view but it brings a whole new story of Prince Eric while recreating those memorable moments from the movie. And I honestly could not ask for anything more. As soon as I started this book, I could not put it down. I loved this new story and the curse of Prince Eric. The pacing kept me interested and the plot won me over.

Get ready to fall in love with Ariel & Eric all over again! Even though this whole book is from Prince Eric's point of view, there is definitely plenty of Ariel. This version gives us Eric falling for Ariel even though they can't talk to each other. Her innocence and curiosity spills from the page as Eric gets enchanted (not literally) by her. I really liked how Eric was portrayed in this book. I felt like Linsey did an amazing job adapting these characters for this story.

Overall, Prince of Song and Sea by Linsey Miller was a complete win for me! This was a retelling that gave us a new story but really visiting the best moments from the movie. I loved the twist with Prince Eric and his curse. I thought he was portrayed very well and enjoyed his story. If you love retellings, Disney, and The Little Mermaid - please do not sit on this book.
