I do not really know what to say about this book.. I did not really enjoy it, but at the same time I did want to read along.

I thought the whole alien concept was quite cool. I liked the story behind it and the aliens' superpowers were pretty awesome. Their planet was destroyed and now they're still on the run from those who destroyed it. There were a few exciting confrontations with them throughout the book. The whole mystery of the alien thing made me want to read along.

The beginning was very similar to Twilight. Girl moves to small town, meets hot boy with secret who is grumpy all the time and she tries to figure him out. But while Twilight turns into a love story after the reveal of 'the secret', here the boy stays grumpy and arrogant.

Protagonist Katy is a book blogger, this of course gave an instant connection. But unfortunately it ended there. When Katy meets Daemon, she is instantly attracted to him, even after he turns out to a major (fill in some bad word for yourself). This continued throughout the whole book, he being mean and she still swooning. I really hated that and it makes Katy look vain, since looks are apparently more important to her than personality.
Of course the bad boy also has a soft side, but this was showed so sporadically and more turned towards his sister that it does not make good for his bad actions.
I was just really repulsed by Daemon, he was so arrogant. I know this should make me attracted to him, because writers think everyone likes a bad boy, but there's a difference between a bad boy who is actually nice and a bad boy who is just bad all over..
The only character in the book was Dee, Deamon's sister. She was kind from the beginning and was a good friend to Katy. Unfortunately, she did not have much character development, since Daemon became more and more important throughout the book, while she moved to the background.

The book did not end in a cliffhanger, so I am not really looking forward to reading the next book in this series..

Last thing: I hated that the summary of the book kind of gave everything away already. I know they have to attract the reader and stuff, but it ruined the mystery of the book for the most part..

I would recommend this book to people who like books with the same plot as Twilight or arrogant male protagonists, but not to anyone else.
