When Holly loses her virginity to Paul, a guy she barely knows, she assumes their encounter is a one-night stand. After all, Paul is too popular to even be speaking to Holly...and he happens to have a long-term girlfriend, Saskia. But ever since Holly's mom died six months ago, Holly has been numb to the world, and she's getting desperate to feel something, anything -- so when Paul keeps pursuing her, Holly relents. Paul's kisses are a welcome diversion...and it's nice to feel like the kind of girl that a guy like Paul would choose. But things aren't so simple with Saskia around. Paul's real girlfriend is willowy and perfect...and nothing like Holly. To make matters worse, she and Holly are becoming friends. Suddenly the consequences of Holly's choices are all too real, and Holly stands to lose more than she ever realized she had.

Ever since "The Scarlet Letter" we’ve known for a fact that the other woman is just a good for nothing harlot! Well guess again thanks to Lauren Strasnick’s "Nothing Like You."

In this book Strasnick gives us Holly, who’s losing her virginity in the opening pages to Paul, an obnoxiously popular playa. Paul’s got another problem besides his womanizing ways: his long-term girlfriend. What Holly thought would just be a one night stand turns into a regular tryst with some heart wrenching consequences.

The best thing about Holly is that despite justifying the affair to herself, she always knows deep down that what she’s doing is wrong. It’s that self acknowledgement that allows readers to start to understand that Holly really does have a heart and is not just some sex-crazed lady hell bent on ruining Paul’s girlfriend’s life. What makes the situation even more complicated is she actually starts to become friends with Paul’s GF, Saskia. So now that girl’s life she could potentially ruin has a face, and a face Holly likes to be around. Girl shoot!

Furthermore, it’s the recent death of Holly’s mother that lets us readers know that Holly is really trying to find someone who can give her the love and attention she once experienced from her mom. Unfortunately she picks the class jerk who really just loves to toy with girls’ emotions.

Strasnick proves that there really are two sides to every story, and sometimes that uppercase scarlet “A” should get downgraded to lowercase.

This wasn't really a memorable read. It was quick, so that's good, but it was also a deep book. I love Nils, he was my favorite! So sweet, and really, Holly should have been with him from the start. I also like how it didn't really end happily ever after, like actual life.
