Everybody knows middle grade school is full of terrifying surprises. Eleven-year-old Monty Moonshine dreads going to his new middle school in Stone Heart. Because he is a troublemaker, he gets away with most anything. But after pulling a prank in his last school in gym class, the principal and his parents send him away—only to learn the true nature of his discipline would be to unleash his real monster spirit. He awakens a strange exchange student whose sleeping in a coffin in the school basement—a girl named Traci who will hunt the middle grade students until they all become undead vampires.
But Monty and Traci discover their teachers aren't exactly from this planet. It's up to Monty and Traci to help the kids prepare for an alien invasion—before the mortal human beings in their hometown discover their middle school is a serious mistake!
