For the very first time, The Baby-sitters Club graphic novels adapted by #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling and Eisner Award winning creator of SMILE, Raina Telgemeier, are available in full color! Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, and Stacey are best friends and founding members of The Baby-sitters Club. Whatever comes up -- cranky toddlers, huge dogs, scary neighbors, prank calls -- you can count on them to save the day. But baby-sitting isn't always easy, and neither is dealing with strict parents, new families, fashion emergencies, and mysterious secrets. But no matter what, the BSC have what they need most: friendship. Raina Telgemeier, using the signature style featured in her acclaimed graphic novels SMILE and SISTERS, perfectly captures all the drama and humor of the original novel!

I know of Raina and her work from her previous books that my daughter also loves, like Sisters and Smile. They’re such fun books and this one is no different. I really love the illustrations and I love that the publisher decided to reprint it in color. It’s very tween-friendly and perfect for those kids who don’t particularly like to read, like my daughter. Even though it’s been like 20+ years since I’ve read Kristy’s Great Idea, reading it with my daughter brought back inklings of memories. I’m glad Raina was able to capture the basics of the story, staying true to Ann’s work while adding a bit of her own flair.

Thoughts from BG1 (my daughter): It was very funny and yet heartbreaking at times. My favorite part was when Kristy wrote an essay on decorum that needed to be 100 words and her last two words were “the end”. That totally cracked me up. I really loved the pictures and I would totally recommend this book to my friends.
