Runny Babbit: A Billy Sook
I boved this look! In other words Runny Babbit by Shel Silverstein is a fast and funny read. Each page tells you something about Runny and his friends in the language of Runny Babbit which is sure to be mixed in with normal speech making it harder to decipher. Every poem is wrapped up with either a hilarious or ooohhh part, which is quite impressive considering fitting that into a piece of poetry.
All in all I recommend Runny Babbit to anyone who likes fast, funny, hard to decifer reads.
Combining his trademark poetic style with a mixed up word story, this book will have you tongue ties, twisted, and befuddled by its end...in a good way! Runny Babbit and his friends, ranging from Toe Jurtle to Snerry Jake, provide for a good time to be had by all. See if you can make it through without your mind correcting the words along the way....a challenge in and of itself!
While not in the same league as "Where the Sidewalk Ends" and "A Light in the Attic" (in my opinion), Shel Silverstein's "Runny Babbit" is still a work of children's poetry and rhyme worthy of a following.
