SEASONS is an intriguing book that takes the reader to different parts of the world and examines how they change with the differing seasons. For instance, the book begins with a scene around a Mighty Oak and all the animals who live there. As readers turn each smaller page flap, they see what it looks like during the other seasons, as well as facts about the environment and animals who inhabit it during each season. The book explores a variety of locations, including the arctic and mangrove trees in Northern Australia.

What I loved: This interactive book is a view of different climates, locations, and the amazing plants and animals that live there. The changes through seasons as well as how those seasons are defined are really interesting. I loved the facts on the back of each partial page flap that give more information and cool facts about some of the animals and trees. This makes it all the more entertaining and educational. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous, and I love the inclusion of so many animals along with their habitats that add some interest and details to keep young attention spans.

The poems at the beginning of each section, as well as those at the beginning and end of the book add some lovely melody to the reading. Although the facts are limited in scope, there is still a lot to learn and think about when we talk about seasons, and I appreciated the way the book introduces the topic of the way plants and animals adapt with the seasons.

Final verdict: Lovely, educational, and interactive, SEASONS is a fun picture book to explore with plenty of locations, changes, and cool facts to learn. Recommend for elementary school aged picture book readers to spark interest in the many topics within.
