Welcome to Florida! We're glad you're here! Introducing a new series of picture books about each US state.

Children from Florida and those who'd like to visit Florida one day will love this bright, cheerful, fact-filled picture book celebration of "The Sunshine State." With information about the state's animals, plants, regions, food, people, customs, and fun places to visit, this tribute to Florida is the perfect gift for vacationers and residents alike. The warm, bright illustrations highlight the many delights to be found throughout the state, and the easy-yet-informative details ("The smallest post office in the United States is a tiny building in the Everglades") give just the right amount of information to kids from preschool on up.

WELCOME TO FLORIDA is a fun touristy picture book about the state of Florida. The book goes through some of the key information about the state, such as NASA, the many orange trees, Little Havana, and fun features, like the smallest post office in the US. Full-page illustrations with lots of fun details accompany each page. There is a lot to learn about the state in an approachable way through this picture book.

What I loved: The book contains a lot of fun facts and is like a tourist guide for young children. There's much to learn from wildlife (I didn't know there were manatees in the Florida rivers) to the state flower to unique features. This book would be perfect to give to children before a trip to the state, as a way to introduce it and show some key features. The illustrations are also great with lots of color, interesting details, and diverse children. The writing would work well for the preschool and elementary school crowd.

Final verdict: An intriguing travel guide for young readers, WELCOME TO FLORIDA is a fun picture book with facts and information about the state. Would recommend before taking a trip- or just to learn more about the state.
