WHAT CAN YOU SEE? AT NIGHT is a delightful die-cut board book that peeks through to show all sorts of animals and cool night time features. The book explores the animals and people who are awake at night with plenty of fun details, facts, and interactive questions (about animal sounds). This is a fun book to peek around at and explore with lots of creativity in presentation.
What I loved: The illustrations here are really fantastic with lots of details, animals, vehicles, and fun features. The die-cut peek-throughs add some extra fun to the exploration. The facts are pretty simple, but perfect for an infant and toddler audience. For instance, the book presents fireflies, frogs, foxes, and more animals as well as some people who have jobs in the night, including postal workers, bakers, and farmers (who will stay awake with sheep giving birth). Each page has a question about what sound a particular animal on the page makes, and this interactive text is lots of fun for toddlers who know these great sounds.
Final verdict: WHAT CAN YOU SEE? AT NIGHT is an educational and fun board book for older infants and toddlers to explore. Detailed illustrations, die-cut peek-throughs, and animal sounds make this book a win!
