this book put me to sleep. and im not being anti-semite or anything, but i dont think its really fair for people to get all hyped up about a girl who lived through the holocost which lasted less then 10 years when african americans have been suffering for 400 years!!! i just dont think thats very fair. this book has a tragic ending despite this but i just skipped to the end after getting to like page 100. Sorry anne frank. R.I.P

Set in the time of the Holocaust, this book drags you in and makes you feel as if you are the one there. You will fall in love Anne. You will feel her pain and be with her in her time of joy. You fear what will happen and you won't beleive that all thsi has actually hapened. It shows how cruel our own people can be and how much things have changed and shows the true value of life and family. It is a very inspirational book that shows the real definition of courage, strength and love. I think all kids should be required to read this book, and opn their eyes to how much things in the world have changed and remind them to treat all people equal. It will open their eyes and their hearts.

What a sad story. What a powerful writer who had no future. This describes Holocaust victim Anne Frank, the youngest in a set of two girls. I thought the diary was the greatest thing she ever wrote, yet the things that I didn't like were her criticism of her mother's faults and her obsessive relationship with Peter. I mean, every tennage girl feels distant from her mother at one point and close to her father, but I wished that she didn't see that her father was also constructive in a fiercer way. When I read about her relationship with Peter I felt kind of annoyed because he's the same age as her sister and she tried to help him overcome his quietness, which he never had a chance to fight. But aside from that, I was furious that Hitler even thought of killing Jews because it killed on of the youngest writers whose talent was writing and expressing every teenage girls' feelings.

The diary of Anne Frank tells the story of a Jewish girl and her mother, father and sister, who go into hiding during World War II. It is a heartwrenching story to read. Anne tells of the way they had to live in hiding, of her distant relationship with her mother, her closeness to her father. Anne had a hard time getting along with some of the people who came into hiding with them, most notably the Van Daans. She details her frustrations regarding life in hiding and how she misses her friends and wonders how they are doing. She tells of those who risk themselves to bring them rations and other things. She often goes into the "upstairs" and looks out the window. She has, in hindsight, a heartwarming relationship with Peter Van Daan, who she has her first kiss with. This book is amazing in the fact that Anne keeps the faith after being in hiding for two years. She believes in the good of every person, including those who are capturing and killing Jews. She grows up in hiding and does so with such strength and faith. This book is definately unforgettable.

This book is a definite must-read! From start to finish, this book kept me hooked to every word its' young author was describing. For a girl that is very young, she had to go through more pain and suffering than your average adult. This was a sad book, but an inspirational one as well.

This is the reality of the Holocaust. People say this is the best book written on the Holocaust and they are exactly right. I, myself, am not Jewish, but you don't need to be Jewish to sympathize with Anne and her plight. Imagine hiding in an annex for two years! There were many memorable and touching parts. This is a book that I will never forget. I first read this in eighth grade and plan to read it again. This is something both teenagers and adults should read! They will enjoy it and want to find out more able this hopeful girl who lived a very short life. I cried at some parts, especially at the end and the epilogue that followed. Read the book and watch the movie--you won't regret it!

AT my elementary school, not one person had not heard of Anne Frank. We amy not have read her diary and could give a history of her life, but we knew her. That's because I went to Anne Frank Elementary School. That is why later on in my middle school I felt compelled to read her story. What I found was a smart, witty girl who had a way with words. This made her wiser beyond her years. A contributing factor to this was the fact that she was stuck in the same annex with the same people for all those years, afraid of the Nazis wrath. This book is a classic must read for all ages. It really gives you a peek at what life was like during the halocast. I makes you scared to think that man kind was capable of such heart quenching evil.

Anne Frank, a jewish girl, is known because of her diary held during her time of hiding in WW II. She accurately discribes the situations but never fails to add a sense of fun and amusement. The real emotionally hard bit comes after her diary ends and each single the fate is listed. A very educating and humane book, that I truly recommend to anybody who is either interested in the Holocaust or simply a life in hiding.

I would have to say, for me, this was one ofthe most thought-provoking books ever.
This book, or rather a journal, is about Anne Frank, a Jewish teen in hiding during the Second World War.
This book not only gives a detailed discription of Anne's life but also some interesting historical facts about the war.
A must read!
