Fun and adventure from Caldecott Medal winner Richard Egielski
Jack's best toy pal is Captain Sky Blue, a pilot. Sky speaks in Pilot Talk ("Roger! Wilco!").
After a thunderstorm separates Sky and his buddy ("Mayday!"), Sky is abducted by a whale, then left alone to wander a frigid ocean floor until he chances upon a very special place, a place where he's been before ("Now I'm spooled up!").
Captain Sky Blue thinks he has finally found an easy way home, but first he must face a desperate situation--a challenge that puts his pilot skills to the test!

Young readers will be spooled up (excited) for Captain Sky Blues adventure.
Jack gets a brand new friend, Captain Sky Blue, for Christmas. They fly every single day. A bad storm separates Captain Sky and Jack, and Sky must do whatever it takes to find his way home. Sky thinks he has found the perfect way to get home but not before he helps Santa out on Christmas Eve. Captain Sky gets to show off his great pilot skills!
My favorite part of this book was Captain Skys pilot talk. Im not up on pilot language so the glossary included in the book was sure helpful! This would be a great book for young readers, the pictures are large and colorful and on most pages there is minimal text.
If you have a young one who dreams of being a pilot someday, add this book to their holiday gifts!
