Summary
A kid named Joe spends a week with his grandma each summer in his childhood. Every summer is filled with action, adventure, excitement, laughs, and kittens.
Opinion
I believe this was an intriguing novel because of all the funny things Grandma does. For example, she puts a mouse in container of milk to frame Cowgill's Dairy and many other things.
Recommendation
I would recommend this book to people who have a sense of humor and enjoys funny books.
This book is about Joe (Joey) and his sister, Mary Alice, when they go to their Grandma Dowdel's house. They do lots of crazy things there, like seeing a dead body for the first time, or helping their grandma trespass!
I think that it is a very good book.WARNING, if you want to fully understand the book, you should read it slowly becaus every chapter is a differint year.
I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes historical fiction and/or comedy books.
This book has 7 chapters that all tell about a different summer where Joe and Merry Alice visit there adventurous grandma Ms. Dowdel. Each year they have they have another adventure such as the year they go on a crime spree.
This a very good book that is extreamly funny at one point the two oldest settlers battle it out and at another Grandma Dowdel blows up the local trouble makers feet. It also was a newberry honor book in 1998.
If you like books like Artemis Fowl and Theres a Girl in The Boys Bathroom you are sure to love this one.
