The Rose Bride: A Retelling of "The White Bride and The Black Bride" (Once Upon a Time)
Fate has been cruel to Ombrine and Desirée, too. So despite heir harsh ways, Rose has compassion. But these feelings are bitterly tested when, in a rage, Ombrine tears out the garden. Rose nearly gives up all hope--until a chance meeting with the king. Happiness might be within her reach, but first she must prevail over Ombrine. And then she must determine if she has the courage to love.
This book was just plain creepy. Odd. Creepy. Odd. I don't know which. It was just plain... strange! When Rose's father dies, she is left with her stepmom and stepsister, who I actually felt sorry for as I would for the stepsisters in Cinderella, but these ones, they were beyond evil. Anyways, this book was still odd and creepy and strange because it involved Greek Gods and people transforming with the use of potions and turning into a deer for no apparent reason. I don't like the ending either. Maybe it's not that I don't like it. It's just that it was odd/strange/creepy.
Rose eventually ends up with her love, as a good story should end, but it was just odd, because we weren't shown how he did, and a couple of paragraphs explaining his attempts to prove himself are just odd/strange/creepy. So yeah. =[
