Yes We Can: A Salute to Children From President Obamas Victory Speech, by Scholastic, is a colorful and timely little book that hitches its wagon to Barack Obamas star and follows him on his journey from President-Elect to the first African American President of the United States.  If you crave your own personal collection of photos of Obama on the campaign trail, this book has got your back.  It is sprinkled with words and phrases from Obamas landmark victory speech, and includes inspiring pictures of the excited teens and tweens he met on his way to the White House.  The book is deliberately short on dialogue, showcasing Obama's unique ability to touch his supporters with a few simple words, like:  "I need your help," and "We as a people will get there."

Still, what it lacks in dialogue it makes up for in the wealth of photographic history squeezed between its pages.
A wonderful addition to any school or personal social studies library.
