Now how could a girl from present-day Boston possibly meet a wizard from thirteenth-century England? Why, through a magic hole in time of course!
Theodora Oglethorpe is all alone for the summer. Her father is in Lao and all her friends are off on vacation. But Theodora is stuck in the city. Soon, though, she finds an egg, which was laid by Gideons wyvern Wycca. Wycca wandered through a time hole to find a place to lay her egg, and Gideon needs to find her before the evil wizard Kobold does, or bad things could result.
Hatching Magic was a very funny and cute book. I recommend it for middle schoolers who are fans of Harry Potter and other magic books, because this one fits right in that category. I loved this book when I first read it, and I could probably read it again if I had any time because I liked it so much. Readers will love the magic and adventure in Hatching Magic.
