Baby Bear knows that big bears get to have all the fun. They get to stay up late, live in toy stores, go exploring by themselves, and eat dessert . . . all day long! Baby Bear plans to do each of those things--and more--when he grows up. But at the end of the day, even the biggest bears still get to come home to tell of their grown-up adventures.

This third Baby Bear collaboration between Jane Yolen and Melissa Sweet is a wonderful tribute to imagination and perfectly captures the spirit of youngsters who wish they could make all the rules.

Baby Bear Yearns to Be a Big Bear

In lilting, rhyming verse, illustrated with bright and adorable pictures, Baby Bear tells what will happen when he grows up, starting with "in about a year, my special friends will move in here." Of course Baby Bear and his friends will stay up until all hours, never put the toys away, paint pictures and play all day. Big bears have all the fun, but at the end of the book, Baby Bear tells how he will return home all grown up to read his growing poem to his parents who will give him hugs, tuck him into bed, and give him kisses.

This book is a quick, lively, fun, and heartwarming read-aloud. Kids are sure to request multiple readings--and parents will be happy to read it again.
