The Hound of the Baskervilles
This is perhaps the most famous Sherlock Holmes story of all, not without a reason I would say. One night Sir Charles Baskerville is found dead just outside his home. Many of the Baskerville family have died mysteriously. People say they were murdered, not by a person, but a gigantic devil-like dog - The Hound of the Baskervilles!
The great detective Sherlock Holmes is called to solve the mystery. Can he save the new owner of Baskerville Hall from a terrible death? Read and find out... If you like detective stories, you'll definitely love The Hound of the Baskervilles!
I love all Sherlock Holmes cases...but this one...mystery, surprises, fear, all that is here.
A curse is on the Baskerville family !
An evil dog kills them all...but Sir Henry calls Sherlock. Will they manage to catch the beast ?
I think this book is hard to read and I don't really understand the language. Its alos very boring. This is probably because it's not my kind of book. I prefer true stories. The only reason I'm realing this book is because I have to for school. If I had a choice I would probably stop reading after the first two paragraphs.
I was just telling my readers on the forum that when I looked in a library catalog, there were so many continuations of the Sherlock Holmes series from other authors, just from this one book. I don't know what I can say to explain this popularity. Maybe its the ingenius second person narration through Holme's sidekick Webster. Maybe because there is a ring of superstition and horror. Maybe becasue there are twists and turns. But it was overall pretty fair. It is overhyped but I think you should read it anyway and answer the question yourself.
