For Biddle's Sake

Gail Carson Levine really goes to the stars with this book. The whole of the book isn't very long but the others make up for it. Including Cinderellis and the glass hill, the fairy's mistake, and much more. All are great fantasy that edge into the next book as you go through Biddle's history with fairies, enchantments, and glamor. They all make a wonderful, but short, read.

This book retells the fairy tale of Puddocky, one I had never heard of until I read this book. Parsley goes to live with the fairy Bombina, who just happens to have a nasty habit of turning people into toads. Although Parsley tries to get her to stop, eventually there is an accident and poof! Parsley now has to live life as a Biddlebaum toad. Meanwhile, she falls in love with the handsome Prince Tansy. Whats a girl toad supposed to do? This is one of my favorites of the Princess Tales. Fun to read than for no other reason than to get to know this obscure fairy tale. Make sure you get your hands on this one!
