My Mom Loves Me More Than Sushi
sushi, biscotti (Italian cookies), louska bread (a treat from the Czech Republic), canja (Portugese chicken soup), couscous (a Moroccan grain dish). . .and many more dishes, from lands all over the world. Each spread shows the mom and daughter cooks concocting an exotic dish, with great enthusiasm. Their zest for each other is equally obvious in the adorable cartoony spreads (each picture also features the family dog and cat, participating in their own fashion).
This is a delightful introduction to food from other countries, as well as a heartfelt tribute to how much joy adventurous cooking can be --- not to mention the message of motherly love woven throughout. And wouldn't it be fun for a mom and young cook combo to find the recipes and make each dish in this book?
