The Jungle Book is an adventure novel about a young child named Mowgli, lost in the heart of the jungle. He wanders into the den of two wolves, who take pity on him and decide to raise him as their own. But life in jungle is hard for a human being, and he has a lot of lessons to learn if he wants to survive. Various animal friends help him in his struggles, including Bagheera, the wise black panther, and Baloo, the big old brown bear. The book tells how an innocent child wins the hearts of some of the jungle's fiercest creatures, escapes from jealous enemies and survives where no other human can. It's a gripping story about all human life and the difficulties of growing up.

The Jungle Book has unique style. It reveals the secrets of the jungle in front of the reader's eyes, while at the same time creating an atmosphere of awe and respect to that dangerous and mysterious place.
