The Laughing Man
August 17, 2005
The fifth book of the series talks about an encounter between the Brazilian Indian boy Zito and an unusual, laughing man. All that the man does is laugh, laugh, and laugh. This annoys Zito, but he eventually figures out why the old man laughs so much. He is laughing at all the follies and madness of this world, and by laughing them off, he is being of service to his fellow-men by reminding everyone of the hypocrisy that reigns the world today. Zito comes away from the encounter changed and deeply awakened. All the books in this series, including this one, are written in a melodic and poetic style, with words carefully chosen for children” of all ages.
