The Lost City of Faar (Pendragon #2)
Fresh from his first adventure on Denduron, Bobby finds himself in the territory of Cloral, a vast world that is entirely covered by water. Cloral is nearing a disaster of huge proportions. Reading the journals Bobby sends home, his friends learn that the desperate citizens of the endangered floating cities are on the brink of war. Can Bobby -- suburban basketball star and all-around nice guy -- help rid the area of marauders, and locate the legendary lost land of Faar, which may hold the key to Cloral's survival?
So, Bobby Pendragon is at it again, in another adventure to discover who he truly is and what destiny he will be called to.... But for now, he's just on a crazy trip with his Uncle to another "world", or territory, and is in search of another young Traveler like he is (he just doesn't know he's one yet). I LOOOVEED this book! This one is my absolute favorite out of the entire series because of the location everything takes place in throughout most of the book - Cloral. The description was amazing, as were the creativity and ideas that were put into making this fantastic, underwater world. Besides the great scenery, wildlife, and general make-up of this new place, the characters introduced in this book are also very interesting and become very important later into the series (so go read the rest of the series to find out why....). Spader is a great guy, with a lot of fun characteristics in an otherwise, mildly grim situation. We see a little more of Press in his natural place, and we also see more of the bad guy, Saint Dane (what an ironic name, huh? Intriguing character, too). SOOO, yeah. Just a great book overall, and I highly recommend reading it! After the first one, of course, and then procceding onto the next book in the series....
I read this book in one day-and that can only mean one thing... I LOVED it! This is my favourite book in the whole Pendragon series!
The reason I read this book is because I read the first book, and I promised myself that whenever I start a series, I should finish it (unless I don't like it too much), but I didn't even have to promise myself that, because this book was awesome! This book was exciting, and I once again liked how the author switched from Bobby writing in his journals that he sends to Mark+Courtney to read, and Mark+Courtney as they read Bobby's journals.
I loved how this book had a lot of clues, and I think in this book that Saint Dane (the bad guy), has the most sinister ideas to try to remake and rule Halla (everything and every time there is, and there will be) in this book! I totally loved this book, and I will cherish this book as one of my favourite books!
Bobby Pendragon's second adventure takes him to a land of water. Coral is a territory where people live on cities which float on the ocean. In this territory, Bobby meets Spader a fun loving guy who always has a smile on his face. Bobby is a Traveler, meaning someone who travels back and forth through the different territories (worlds and times different from, yet including, our world and time), who is on a mission to stop Saint. Dain, a Traveler who wants to destroy all the territories and Halla (all of time and space). Bobby travels with his Uncle Press who is also a fellow Traveler. Press is the one who introduced the world of Travelers to Bobby. Spader is also a Traveler but he doesnt know that yet and it is Bobby's job to let him know.
I thought that this book is ok. I would recommend it to someone who doesnt really have anything to read or doesnt have a problem in drawing himself into the book. I had to concentrate really hard to get myself to finish it because I couldn't really get into the book.
Not as action packed as the first, but still a great book!!! Bobby the recently dubbed traveler, must know help the water world Cloral from falling into the hands of Saint Dane. With the help of Cloral's Traveler Spader, Bobby and his friends must find the lost city of Farr for the answer on how to save the Territory.
Instead of living on a hot sunny earth, Denduron, Bobby now has to save the Earth Cloral. Bobby realizes it's underwater. Lucky him...the quiggs are Sharks. Bobby has to stop evil Saint Dane from persuing his evil plan for Cloral. With his new partner traveler, Spader, Bobby has to tell Spader that he is a traveler, not who he think he really is...
