Polly Horvath has created another one of her stories where a child is left with eccentric relatives. In this case, Henry is left with his two aunts while his parents go to Africa. The two aunts, Pigg and Mag, decide to take a vacation which leads them on a lengthy road trip with Henry in the backseat. As always in a Horvath novel, there is an endearing quality to the eccentric women who eventually lead Henry to understand more about life and his own role in it. The book reads like a roadtrip with plenty of meandering and time to look out the windows, but the destination is not important. It is the joy of getting there. Simply wonderful!
