MOOSE, GOOSE, AND MOUSE is the story of three friends who live together in an old house. They dream of finding a new house. Moose wants a house that's funny, while mouse wants a house that's sunny, and goose wants one with a bunny. They set out on a train in the rain to find this house, before their caboose gets loose and they find themselves on a wilder journey than they anticipated - all to end up with the perfect new house.

What I loved: This was a really silly read that is sure to entertain young children. The small rhyming phrases add some interest as do the unique, bright colored, and simple illustrations. Although there are some mildly scary moments when they are flying down the hill in a loose caboose, the book manages to keep it light-hearted and funny with some of the animals fearing and others enjoying the trip. It can also open up some fun discussions about what children would love to have in a house of their own.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, it can be a bit tongue-twisting to read some of the pages, as the rhymes are close and switch from one phrase to the next, creating some reading flubs.

Final verdict: A silly read about finding your perfect place, MOOSE, GOOSE, and MOUSE is a charming picture book that is sure to make young readers giggle.
