STAR FISHING is an imaginative picture book read about dreams, stars, and friends. A young child is having trouble sleeping and wondering if anyone else is awake too when a star comes and brings them to the rabbit on the moon who is star fishing. They wonder if anyone else is awake and cast their pole to find some other animals who are still awake. They all play together among the stars until they begin to drift off to sleep one-by-one and return to their beds.

What I loved: This book has absolutely gorgeous, dream-like illustrations that capture the magic of dreams. The collection of baby animals is a sweet story of friendship and play with messages of never being alone. The soft and simple text works well for bedtime, with many aptly drawn and colored images telling most of the story and leading to sleep. As they make the constellations, it creates a lovely message about the night sky and warm feelings of friendship as they drift off to sleep.

Final verdict: A great bedtime picture book, STAR FISHING will resonate with readers who are having trouble sleeping and help lull them to sleep with its soft and sweet story.
