MEET VIVO! is a toddler-friendly recap of the animated movie. The board book tells the story of Vivo, how he began as a street musician in Cuba with his best friend, Andres. He then ended up on a journey to Florida to deliver a song from Andres to his lost love Marta, accompanied by Andres's niece, Gabi. He made a lot of friends along the way and accomplished his mission, delivering the song and learning about himself in the process.

What I loved: This is a great board book for toddlers and preschoolers who might be too young to see the movie but are still interested in it anyway. This book tells the highlights of the story with a focus on friendships. Told from Vivo's perspective, the book captures his story with lots of bright colors and fun illustrations. The words of the book are printed over white backgrounds, which is very helpful when reading, adding clarity to the font.

As a small point, there is a lot of text in the book, so the pages turn slowly. As a result, this would work better for older toddlers/preschoolers with more patience for longer reads. This is also the general highlights of the movie, so a lot of context is left out.

Final verdict: For young children interested in the movie, MEET VIVO! is a brightly colored board book that gives the highlights of the animated film. Recommend for older toddlers and preschoolers.
