IF YOU LIVE HERE is an imaginative picture book that takes the reader on a thoughtful journey of what their lives would be like if they lived in different places. For instance, if you live on a space ship, you'll need to stay curious and if you live in a dollhouse, you'll need to become very small. Lovely images accompany each imaginative location with intriguing ideas about each.

What I loved: This is a fun celebration of all the places where people and animals live, with plenty of whimsy, delightful details in the illustrations, and plenty of adorable animals, insects, and children. The idea of the story is simple, but it leads to imaginative thoughts about all the different places you would live and what would happen if they did - a great thought exercise for young children. The illustrations are really lovely, and I appreciated all the details on each page that make this fun to explore. The brief text on each page make this a book that will work for toddlers/preschoolers as well as elementary school aged readers.

Other great features are the clear and easy to read font on each page and a special turn page of a skyscraper with plenty of neighbors. This little fun feature just adds to the delight and experience of reading.

What left me wanting more: As a small point, some of the language is a bit awkward to read, and some of the phrases take some consideration to understand. They do not always follow in the same way from page to page with different, random thoughts for each place, which may need some explanations for younger readers.

Final verdict: A delightful and imaginative picture book, IF YOU LIVE HERE explores all the places where people and animals live with plenty of whimsy and lovely illustrations. Recommend for preschool and up young readers.
