Even the Queen of England has to get up and groomed to greet the day

Get up, Elizabeth! It’s time for the future queen to get out of bed, scrub her face with almond paste, brush her teeth with soot, comb the tangles out of her unruly red hair, get dressed, and sit still while her ruff is sewn on and her sleeves are pinned. It’s rough rising and shining every day—for queens and kids alike.

Elizabeth needs to get out of bed because she's the princess and has a lot to do. As a princess. there's so many step to get ready in the morning, from putting on the dress to fixing her unruly hair. This is based in older times and no detail is spared, including Elizabeth's messy hair that threatens to take up the whole room.

GET UP ELIZABETH is fascinating because it takes you into the life of a princess from England. She can't just roll out of bed and start her day. My daughter had a lot of questions for why they did things, like use coal to brush her teeth. It was fun to explain them and a great learning opportunity for her.

Final Verdict: I would recommend this book because it's a look into an older culture and how they did things before we had all our fancy gadgets. Everybody loves princesses and this is a way for children to see what they have to go through to get ready for the day.
