Not Now, Cow
Rooster and his farm friends are ready for springtime play. But not Cow, who can’t seem to dress for the weather. She's decked out in a parka and mittens as the first flowers bloom, ski-pants and a wool hat as the summer sun beats down, and a bathing suit and flip-flops when snow starts to tumble. Readers will love shouting out the catchy refrain “Not NOW, Cow!” while learning all about the seasons!
What I loved: Toddlers and preschoolers will find this book absolutely hilarious. As they are beginning to understand seasons and the need to wear different clothes in each season, this brings it all home with a funny refrain of "Oh, Cow. Not now." The illustrations are really fantastic with lots of color, details, and a high quality cartoonish look. It captures all the delight and humor of the story perfectly.
The font is large and easy to read, with relatively few words on each page, making this great for short attention spans and working really well for toddlers and preschoolers. This book is laugh-out-loud funny to children who can "get" these jokes and laugh along with the silly animals.
Final verdict: A delightful and charming picture book, NOT NOW, COW is a giggle-inducing story about seasons and seasonal wardrobes. High recommend for toddlers, preschoolers, and young elementary school aged readers.
