Moo-Moo, I Love You!
New York Times bestselling pair Tom Lichtenheld and Amy Krouse Rosenthal present udderly perfect expressions of affection to share between any cow and calf: I love you no matter your moo-d. I love giving you a big s-moo-ch. My love for you is as big as . . . a MOO-SE! With a universal message and warm, funny text that families will read and reread together, this exuberant book from two picture book superstars at their best, is a moo-velous choice for gifts year-round to fans of I Love You to the Moon and Back and Guess How Much I Love You.
What I loved: Books about love that are made to share with children are great for gifts and for bedtime snuggles. This one has a cute and unique theme with the moo-ing throughout. The messages are great, including unconditional and big love themes, such as loving no matter the moo-d and as big as a moo-se. The illustrations are simple but full of cute cows acting out each page and with a fun cartoonish feel. The text is easy to read and printed in a clear and large font.
What left me wanting more: As a small point, the moo word play gets to be pretty cumbersome in places, and it was hard to read it out everywhere and so many times. I do appreciate some good word play, but it made this one a bit harder to read, due to the high content level (though they did stick to their theme well!).
Final verdict: MOO-MOO, I LOVE YOU! is a delightful and silly sweet book about love with plenty of puns and simple illustrations to charm young readers.
