WHEN I GROW UP, I WANT TO DRIVE... is a cute lift-the-flap adventure of different work vehicles in action. On the left side of each page spread, it introduces a specific vehicle and the flap lifts to show the inside of the vehicle. On the right side, there are several flaps to lift to show the pictured vehicle and related vehicles in action. It begins on the farm with the tractor with the many vehicles that perform critical tasks on farms, like combine harvestors and straw baler machines. It also shows emergency rescue vehicles, construction site vehicles, public transit vehicles, and garbage/recycling city vehicles.

What I loved: This is a really fun book full of flaps that are so fun to explore. For children who love vehicles, there are so many to examine and enjoy on each page. The illustrations are full of color and fun to look at. This is a great book for children to explore on their own, lifting flaps and looking at the many transforming images. The board book style is ideal for older infants and young toddlers and the language/text is targeted as such.

The flaps are decently sturdy as they are extensions of the page (not separate flaps glued on), but they are susceptible to ripping by enthusiastic readers.

What left me wanting more: A lot of the flaps are without text or with minimal text, so there is a limited amount to learn on each page. However, this makes the book work better for young children as they won't get bogged down in the details and can just play. Additionally, the font that is included on flaps is very small print and sometimes hard to read, as it is also black font on darker color backgrounds.

Final verdict: This lift-the-flap board book is full of bright colors and fun vehicles with appeal for young toddlers who love to explore.
