Black Canary: Ignite
With expressive and energetic art by Cara McGee to match the trademark attitude and spunk of Meg Cabot's characters and dialogue, this mother-daughter story embraces the highs and lows of growing up without growing out of what makes us unique. It's an inspirational song that encourages readers to find their own special voices to sing along with Black Canary!
Everything changes when weird things start happening at Dinah's school. Glass breaks without anyone touching it and everyone keeps telling her she's too loud. Her friends believe Dinah is telekinetic, but she doesn't believe it. When someone attacks her mom's flower shop, Dinah learns that her mom has been hiding a huge secret from her and it might just be Dinah's way to make a difference in the world.
BLACK CANARY is a cute introduction to the backstory of the hero Black Canary. Dinah is a very likeable character who doesn't like doing anything wrong and has a sweet, but aggressive-when-needed persona. I also like the family dynamics we see between her and her parents.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to fans of superheros, DC, graphic novels, and Black Canary.
