How to Be a Cat
A celebration of all things feline, How to Be a Cat also tells a universal story of mastering life skills, and of the sometimes tender, sometimes stern relationship between parent and child, teacher and pupil. Cat lovers of all ages will connect to this loving portrayal of a mentor-student relationship.
What I loved: Although this book is simple to read, it is visually complex with the two cats acting out many verbs in beautiful images. Young children will find it appealing and learn a few new verbs in the process. The ultimate length is just about right, beginning with stretching and ending with dreaming. The words are printed in blue and of a good size, making it easy to read aloud. For children who love animals, this will be perfect to improve vocabulary and enjoy.
Final verdict: Delightful and beautiful, HOW TO BE A CAT is a delightful exploration of verbs from the cat perspective. Understated colors and text add to the appeal of this lovely book. Highly recommend for children who like animals, are learning new verbs, and/or want something uniquely beautiful.
