Lovely, endearing, and heartfelt, THE LOVE LETTER demonstrates the power of telling someone how much you care. Hedgehog, Bunny, and Squirrel are best friends. In turn, each of them finds a love letter stating how much they appreciate their friend. The letter makes Hedgehog feel cheerful, Bunny helpful, and Squirrel carefree, but importantly, it makes all of them feel loved.

At the end, they learn that the letter was actually intended for something different, but the important thing is that they all know how much they care for each other. The book has a great message about telling people how you feel, even if they may already know it, and the power of the written word. With soft illustrations and beautiful colors, this book is a pleasure to read and share with little ones.

What I loved: The setting and the characters were simply lovely. The illustrations elegantly convey the story. Animals are easy for children to understand and love, and the friendships in the book are beautifully done. The love letter is also gorgeous and sends a great message about telling those you love that you care. There is also the added discussion of emotions, which is great for the preschool crowd who are still navigating complex feelings.

Final verdict: A simply lovely story, this is a beautiful book to share with young children as they explore feelings, friendship, and love. Full of heart, this is a great story for little ones and parents to enjoy together.
