For fans of Fred Rogers in Won’t You Be My Neighbor? and Be Kind, a little bunny, who dreams of being a superhero, proves to her know-it-all older sister that kindness really is a superpower.

Some superheroes can leap tall buildings in a single bound, some can crawl up a wall, some grow wolfsharp claws, and some have superhuman speed. And Superbuns? Her superpower is being kind. Super kind. She can’t help but be kind: watering a neighbor’s daisies; helping a friend cross the street; feeding a hungry goldfish.

Superbuns’s older sister Blossom is a super know-it-all who doesn’t believe kindness is a superpower. Not one bit. And all this kindness is slowing them down on their way to Grammy’s house, where a yummy carrot cobbler awaits.

But the sisters are being followed by a little fox, and when Blossom learns the fox is not after their cobbler but is lost, she discovers kindness really is a superpower after all.

SUPERBUNS! is an absolutely adorable and delightful celebration of kindness. Superbuns has a superpower- being kind! However, her sister Blossom knows everything about everything, and while kind is kind, Blossom knows that it is not a superpower. On their way to their grandmother's house, they realize they are being followed by a Fox. Blossom is scared at first, but then learns that the Fox is lost- and that maybe she doesn't know everything about everything, because kindness can be super!

In a beautifully scripted story with some comic book-style images, Superbuns and Blossom will capture young readers' hearts and imagination. Highly recommended for lovers of animals, superheros, and fun stories.

What I loved: The illustrations here are fantastic! With a bit of comic-style flair and adorable animals, the images are sure to delight young readers. Adding on the clever and charming story of two sisters, being kind, and not judging others too quickly, this is a book that can be easily enjoyed for parents and children alike. The illustrations of Superbuns also give some great examples of everyday kindness, which is great for kids, while also teaching about rushed judgments (in terms of the Fox) and being yourself no matter what others- like Blossom- might say. Superbuns is unapologetically herself and cannot stop herself from being kind- even to her sister. So many great examples and messages for toddlers and elementary schoolers!

Final verdict: This entertaining story is sure to delight young readers and their parents with the colorful and fun design, strong and important messages, and relatable plot (I may have been that know-it-all big sister). Be prepared to fall in love with this super bunny and her kind heart!
