Katia and Victoria are sisters and scholarship students at a private boarding school. While Victoria tries to fit in, Katia is unapologetic about her quirks, even though their classmates tease her. After a big fight, Katia runs away from school. And when Victoria goes looking for her, she accidentally tumbles into the underworld of a nearby graveyard. It is inhabited by ghosts, ghouls, and a man named Nikola, who is preparing a sinister spell that's missing one key ingredient.

All Victoria wants to do is fit in, but instead, her and her sister Katia are always being teased. It doesn't bother Katia because she just wants to be a lone wolf. She doesn't care what everyone else thinks. Victoria, on the other hand, wants to join in school activities, like soccer. She also wants Katia to participate in something.
Katia is sick of being told what to do so she storms off after a fight with Katia. While searching for Katia, Victoria falls into a hole in a graveyard and meets Little Ghost and Modie. They're the only ones who can help Victoria save Katia's life before it's traded for more time for Modie.
GRAVEYARD SHAKES is a spooky graphic novel with colorful and unique illustrations. It teaches just how important family is and how strong their love can be. It was a very easy read as well and Modie and both Little Ghosts had huge hearts even though they weren't fully alive.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to ages eight and up that are fans of ghosts and spooky places like graveyards. It's also good for those who like the movie Casper the Friendly Ghost.
