The Fairy's Mistake
When the fairy Elthelinda blesses kind Rosella with the gift of having jewels fall out of her mouth when she speaks, and curses her cruel sister to have slimly things drop from her mouth, she sis convinced that the two sister have been properly dealt with. But soon Rosella is being exploited by her greedy new husband, and Myrtle (the sister) is using her snakes and spiders to have people give her whatever she wants. Whats a fairy to do? The very first Princess Tale that I read, this one is still my favorite. A unique look at what might happen if a fairy gift didnt go as planned. Make sure you read this one!
Two sisters: Rosella and Myrtle live with their mother who is a widow. Rosella is forced to do all the chores and work while Myrtle relaxes and does only what she wants to. But their lives change when the fairy Ethelinda gives Rosella the gift of having jewels come out of her mouth every time she speaks after Rosella offers her a drink. But is it a gift? It has only brought Rosella trouble—the only good thing it has done is the prince has proposed to her. But does the prince really like Rosella, or does he like her jewels?
Meanwhile, Ethelinda has cursed Myrtle after Myrtle refuses to give her a drink. Now, when Myrtle speaks snakes and bugs come out of her mouth. However, Myrtle is using this to her advantage and uses it to get gifts, free food and such. It doesn’t seem like a curse at all, but a gift instead!
Has the fairy made a mistake? How will the Rosella solve her problems? Read the book to find out!
It was so funny to read what happened to the two sisters. I laughed and laughed. It was sad that even the prince was selfish. But the poor fairy, she had tried so hard to give good and bad gifts. Maybe next time she should try money. I really loved it. I have all the books. Can't wait until the new one comes out.
