Based on the Parable of the Sower in Matt. 13:1-23 Princess Faith decides at long last to plant her own garden. She is deriving great pleasure in the entire process of sowing, watering, and watching the seeds grow when she is faced with a myriad of events that begin to take place that cause her garden to die, little by little. Some incidents are very sudden and mysterious and others are just plain scary! As she discovers how her garden grows best, she also learns about her own heart.

When I first read this book, it reminded me a bit of 'The Secret Garden', which was one of my favorite books growing up. Princess Faith finds a hidden Garden near her father's castle and decides to plant a garden there with her 4 sisters.

There are 4 plots and each time the girls plant something, the plants do not last. Each plot has an obstacle that the girls find hard to overcome. At last they are able to figure out which plot has the best soil, shade, etc and are able to overcome the obstacles of planting a garden and having it last. Based on the Parable of the Sower from Matthew 13, Princess Faith and her sisters learn what it takes to plant a seed and make it last!

This is a wonderful book to share with young ones to help them understand this particular parable. I highly recommend this for home library and church libraries!
Good Points
Teaches young children the importance of never giving up.
