What I loved:
There is a lot of information about Taylor Swift out there, but this book keeps all the facts short, sweet, and to the point. We get a little bit of backstory, a lot about each album (and who certain songs are about), and even a bit about Taylor's fashion style and home life. Bonus: tiny stickers for your nails! Younger Taylor fans (4 and up) will love this book. Also, at only $4.99, parents will love it too.
What left me wanting more:
The book is pretty fact heavy and made it feel more like a history lesson, one I might get tested on at the end. Every date, album, and award is noted, and Taylor has a lot of those to her name. There wasn't much to the story except listing all of Taylor's achievements and accolades. I'm not sure younger fans will get a lot out of this book, unless they're looking for reference material for a school report.
Final Verdict:
TAYLOR SWIFT: THE STORY OF ME is a no-brainer at $4.99 for the younger fans in your life. The glossy photos and uplifting messages make up for the fact-heavy narrative.
