The kite fighters is about two brothers. The older one receives an awesome kite, but is a terrible flyer. Young-sup, the younger one is a great flyer. The problem is the older son represents the family. Will he win the fight? Find out in The kite fighters!
My opinion is, I didnt think I would like it. It turned out really good. It did seem boring at some points, where they were not doing much. I would rate this a four, five being the best.
What I think of this is if you like action or modern day adventures, dont read this. If you like historical fiction and not much action, go ahead, read. This would be perfect for you.
Back in Seoul, Korea in 1473, two brothers are excited about the kite fights of the new year. Young-sup is a flawless expert at kite flying, but is under-rated by being the second son born, which is a law by tradition. Kee-sup has trouble flying, but can design a high-flying kite. These two relatives make a perfect team. But unfortunately, Kee-sup must be ahead of Young-sup. Will the law be broken? Read to find out! This ancient novel has a lot to say. That is why it has become a Yearling. These two boys that are brothers take the story on for a roller coaster. All in between there are arguments, loving moments and a new invention. The feelings are the corkscrew. Jealousy, happiness, sadness and even mixed emotions! Once youre finished, youll be wiped out!As I conclude, this novel has many ancient cultures. If anybody wants to learn a little about ancient Korea, The Kite Fighters is a great book. But remember, DONT read it for top info. This is also not for action nor romance. But if you want a brotherly story, youll cherish every word.
Kee-sup is a boy who loves to make things. Young-sup is the opposite of Kee-sup, Young-sup likes to fly things. Young-sup gets really jealous one day when Kee-sup gets a Kite, but Young-sup keeps telling Kee-sup that Young-sup himself should be the person who gets the kite. Will they get to do what they want to do, or will Young-sup have to make the kite and will Kee-sup has to fly it? Read the book to find out!
I think this book was GREAT!!!I loved how the main characters (Kee-sup and Young-sup) met a bunch of new people, and those people made the story better! They run into some people who you would never have thought they would run into in this book.
I think you would like this book if you like books that have people that switch places also if you like books about people fighting there feelings, or fighting In a sport. You wouldnt like this book if you like mysteries or if you dont like historical fictions!!!
This book takes place in ancient Korea wear two brothers that are opposites work together to compete the kite festival. Kee-sup gets a kite for new years celebration and is not very good. But Young-sup is .so him and his brother go flying kites one day and the king sees the kites and asks if he could have one. And when it was finished the king realizes he will win Young-sup has to do a favor.
I think this is an awesome book. Because it takes place in ancient Korea and has very good language of the discipline. It is one of top ten books in my list. I was thinking, what was going to happen? or why not?.
I think that someone who doesnt like too much action and likes books about opposite characters would enjoy this book.I you like things from ancient times you will like this book.
The Kite Fighters is a book about two boys who liked flying kites. They go through obstacles seeing whats against the rules or not. They make friends with the king and enter the kite flying contest. Will they win? Will they not? Read this book to find out!
I think this book was great because theres a lot of suspense and when Kee-sup came up with this great idea I got excited and tried to picture what it would be like to be Young-sup. I think its a great book.
I would recommend this book to people who like books about ancient times and people who like just a little bit of suspense. I would not recommend this to people who like action packed, adventure, and lots of suspense type books.
The Kite Fighters is a great book showing the rivalry between siblings.Young-sup wanting desperately to be treated like his elder brother Kee-sup. When Young-sup is chosen to do something great his fathers response is not exactly what he wanted. When
Young-sup lets it all out on his brother his feelings are a bit of a surprise. There is jealousy, and fighting but understanding in the end and both making an unexpected friend.
This book is great, but at some parts I misunderstood what was happening. This book did not look like a good book for me at first. I was not interested in kite fighting.
As I read, it got better and better and I loved it.
This book is not for you if you are looking for an action book. This book is more about feelings and understanding your friends and siblings. Overall I think this book was pretty good.
In Seoul, Korea Young-sup and Kee-sup have a tough relationship, as you would expect from all brothers. Young-sup is a wonderful flyer while kee-sup has some trouble flying. He can make a kite that makes kite seller Chung jealous. Young-sup hates being youngest, butt kee-sup isnt too thrilled about being oldest. Nobody seems to show much respect to him. So when the new years kite fighting festival and the kings help he can make his parents proud. Can they put aside their differences and win the festival.
This book includes a lot of brotherly contact and language. That can bore readers who prefer exciting books. Although it can be dull at times at the end the competition saves the best for last. During the constructing of the kite it showed very thick detail. That can bore readers, but also gives info on how to make a kite. My main opinion is that this book is good, but quite detailed.
I love historical books so for other history people this is a great book. It may not be the best choice for action lovers except for the kite fighting competition. If you like sci-fi books this probably isnt the best choice. The brothers can relate to brothers in 2010. You can find something to relate to from almost every character. This book is great for people who enjoy brotherly bonds.
In Seoul, Korea, 1473, a kite fighters competition is going to take place at the royal park. This book contains emotions, fights, bonding, and most of all risky events. Both brothers in the story find who really contains each talent and with that some rules are broken. There are many lessons the boys learn many lessons and how to overcome them.
This book is one of my exact favorites. I like it because it includes all of my likings, problems, risks, and best of all it shows the differences & similarities of brother hood.
When I was reading this book I realized that everybody should be thankful for what they have, and how important friends and family can be.
By my opinion I dont think that this book has a lot of action or fiction in it. I think that this book is for people that like to show their emotions, and people that like to know and read about different cultures and people. If you want a book that is packed with action this book like I said is not for you. But if you want a book with jealousy and feelings this book may be for you.
In this book two brothers share their kite fighting skills. The younger brother (Young-sup) finds his skill. But when Kee-sup has to make a kite things start to get better for him
and his skill. Soon he learns to be nice to his brother and to use his skill.
I think you should read it because it is a good fiction story that includes real Korean culture. It was so worth the time it took to read. I gave it four stars because it is a short, historical, and meaningful book.
I recommend this book for people who like kites and history.
