This book even though I read it when I was in fith grade has still left me with a feeling of overwhelming sadness. The book is told by the sister of a boy who gets killed when riding his bike home. It deals with the guilt the sister feels because she thinks that if she had taken his bike home he wouldn't have died. The story undergoes the emotional turmoil that many families suffer when a child is unjudstly lost but also portrays the faith and determination that accompanies it. Ms.Park portrays coming to terms with death through the eyes of child and I was deeply moved when she had the sister go to elemantary schools and give talks about bike saftey and the importance of helmets which could have been the difference between life or death for her brother.
