HOW BIG IS ZAGNODD? is delightful nonsense with Boynton's usual flair. This board book asks a series of questions, such as "how long is Boknuk?" with the answer to each question being "SO" big/long/etc. The illustrations feature mostly made up creatures/aliens with lots of bright colors.

What I loved: The concept of this board book is simple, ridiculous, and absolutely charming. Young children will appreciate the short length and repetitive nature of the questions/answers. The brightly colored illustrations add to the fun of exploring the book. There's also some humor for adults in that one of the questions is "How lost is Steve?" featuring a man with a briefcase amongst the dancers of Planet 9 (from the previous page) with the answer of "SO lost!" It definitely charms adults as well.

The length of the book is short and the text is clear and easy to read. This makes it a great one to share with older infants and young toddlers. The board book format is great for small fingers.

What left me wanting more: As a small thing, some of the made-up names are a bit tough to read the first time through, but after that, it'll come more easily.

Final verdict: HOW BIG IS ZAGNODD? is absolutely charming and fun nonsense that will appeal to older infants and young toddlers. Recommend for children who enjoy repetition, easy questions, and brightly colored characters.
