The illustrations are soft and appropriate for the emotional topic. I love the color theme and my daughter enjoyed this book. She loves the rain (especially playing in it) and it helped her understand more about why we cry, which isn't an easy topic to address as a parent. I also love how it talks about crying like it's a normal process, because it is, even though it isn't always seen that way.
Final Verdict: I would recommend this to parents who want to teach their children about emotion, but aren't sure how to explain that topic. CRYING IS LIKE THE RAIN takes events that happen often and twists them into ways that children can understand the true reason for different emotions.
