THIS LITTLE PIGGY is a simple rendition of the nursery rhyme in a board book. The book follows the "This little piggy went to market..." nursery rhyme with the only modification being that the piggy eats roast leeks vs. beef (this may be a regional difference). The illustrations are simple, showing children in pig costumes holding their toes and then acting out the rest of the rhyme on the facing page. The diversity of children shown is great, including a child with vitiligo.

What I loved: This is a cute and simple board book that will appeal to children who enjoy simple stories of rhymes. The illustrations are really cute but simple with small actions. I loved the diversity of children shown. This book would be best for infants who will appreciate the brief text and simple rhyme. For toddlers, this may be too simple.

What left me wanting more: If you are looking for a simple book of the nursery rhyme, this would be right up your alley. If you are looking for something more complex or with additional features to appeal to older children, then this would be too simple.

Final verdict: THIS LITTLE PIGGY illustrates the classic nursery rhyme in a way that is perfect for infants and their caregivers to enjoy together. A quick but cute read, this adds some fun illustrations that are great for babies who enjoy looking at other babies!
