PEPPERMINT POST is an adorable new story about Christmas and Santa. The Peppermint Post is the busiest post office in the world, processing all the letters from children that arrive at the North Pole and giving them to Santa's elves, who create the toys and load up the sleigh. The Postmaster, Buck, is settling down to some cocoa after a job well done on Christmas Eve, when he notices a letter that was not delivered. He hurries to the elves, but Santa has already left.

Buck doesn't let that stop him, getting the toy from the elves before chasing after Santa in his back-up sleigh, accompanied by the penguin postal workers. Will they reach Santa in time before he gets to the child's house?

What I loved: The illustrations here are absolutely fantastic! The characters really come to life with plenty of colors and fun details. The book contains some really funny moments and sweet ones that will certainly entertain young children. Buck and the penguins are characters that children will love, and I would love to see their adventures continued in future books. The book manages to also have a movie-like quality with the suspense of timing and comical situations. Children will enjoy this new Christmas-themed tale.

The book is a little lengthy in places, making it better for preschool and elementary school aged readers. The font is nicely sized and clear to make it easy for adults to read aloud.

Final verdict: With fantastic illustrations and delightful characters, PEPPERMINT POST is a clever new Christmas book that is sure to enchant young readers.
