The language is abstract and may appeal to adults who can ponder over the deeper meanings of the book, while children enjoy the lyrical tone. Each page is accompanied by whimsical and colorful illustrations with lots of details.
What I loved: This is an lovely and interesting book that gives you something to ponder. I actually think it may be better suited to adults than children, in the vein of OH, THE PLACES YOU'LL GO, THE WONDERFUL THINGS YOU WILL BE, and THE KNOWING BOOK. It asks big questions and celebrates the lack of answers. This would be great for a graduation gift or change of life gift. The whimsical illustrations that are full of color have appeal for adults and children. My particular favorite is the page with a field of sunflowers, but they are all fun and full of details to keep readers looking.
Final verdict: Thought-provoking and yet whimsical, CHILD OF GALAXIES is an exploration of life through poetry and fanciful illustrations that will appeal to readers of many ages.
