ISLE OF YOU is a beautiful picture book that contains words of encouragement and coping mechanisms for dealing with difficult times. When you are feeling sad, lonely, or angry, you just have to remember ISLE OF YOU- a place where you brush off your worries and put them in a basket while you enjoy costumes, playing, desserts, and entertainment. There's a special message to be shared- that someone loves you very, very much.

What I loved: With colorful and gently graceful illustrations on each page, this picture book is calming in itself. The book also presents a lot of great coping tools for big feelings, including imagining brushing off your worries, thinking of things that being happiness and pleasure, and enjoying other things around you. Great for the target audience who is still navigating a world filled with big emotions, this book has an ultimate message of love. When read, you can hear that ISLE OF YOU sounds like "I love you," making this a great book to be shared between parent and child. With lush scenery, funny images, and a calming tone, this is a perfect book to read to preschoolers and young elementary schoolers when the world starts to feel like too much.

Final verdict: Clever, sweet, and delightful to read, ISLE OF YOU is a lovely book to share with little ones when emotions are too big or even just before bedtime. Calming and lyrical prose combine with beautiful and soft illustrations to present coping mechanisms and an ultimate message of love that will appeal to parents and children alike. Highly recommend for preschoolers and young elementary schoolers who can take this elegant message to heart.
