SUNNY'S TOW TRUCK SAVES THE DAY! is a delightful picture book about a family on their way to picnic who gets a flat tire and calls a tow truck. The family has to wait a few hours while they see road construction and a fire in the distance, so they see plenty of trucks, including firetrucks and construction trucks- though not yet a tow truck. Sunny comes with her tow truck and brings the family to her crew who patch up their car. However, the family has already eaten their picnic while they waited. Sunny has a great idea and takes them to get ice cream instead.

What I loved: With cute rhymes, full-page colorful images, and lots of trucks, this book has broad appeal to the toddler and preschool crowd. The text is written in an easy-to-read font and rhymes on each page, which is delightful for both parents and children. The illustrations are full of vivid colors and cute characters- as well as lots of trucks, which young readers will adore. I also love that the family shown is multiracial, so there is great representation (important for young children to see). Add that to the female tow truck driver, and I love it all!

Final verdict: A delightful rhyming read, this book is sure to appeal to young readers. Colorful and fun images with loads of trucks make this an adorably fun read from start to finish. Recommend for anyone looking for something with a great story line, diverse characters, and lots of trucks!
