After a swim, King smells someone new and he discovers a dog named Fred. Fred has lost his family, but it's okay. King and his human Kayla are detectives, so they will help Fred find his family. As Kayla asks Fred questions, he responds, but Kayla doesn't understand because he's a dog. King does and he helps Fred look into the clues.

This is my first King & Kayla book, so I didn't know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. I love how it's told from King's point of view because it brings a lot of humor into the story. For example, "That was five or one nights ago." His sentences are short and his attention can drift off, just like how I imagined a real dog would be if it could talk. He sort of reminds me of Doug from the movie Up.

Final Verdict: KING & KAYLA AND THE CASE OF FOUND FRED is a mystery with a dash of humor that will entertain both children and adults. I would recommend it to fans of dogs, mysteries, and comedy.
